Tim
Hennessey’s keen understanding of the legislative and political process
has been honed during a career in government and association management
that has spanned over thirty-three years.
Tim
Hennessey has led the Consulting4Biz team for a quarter-century, during
which time he has worked on behalf of the firm’s clients to positively
affect policy in fields as diverse as healthcare, transportation,
business, and tourism. He serves as a lobbyist, while also specializing
in association management, public relations strategies, executive and
financial management, and strategic planning.
Prior
to founding the firm in 1982, Mr. Hennessey was selected in a
nationwide search to serve as the president of the Illinois
Transportation Commission, a coalition of major Illinois corporations
including Caterpillar and John Deere. In this important leadership
position he led the drive for one of the most extensive transportation
funding bills in state history, resulting in what would be the first
major funding increase for Illinois highways in over 15 years.
Mr.
Hennessey began his career in government and association management in
1974 when he was hired as the associate director of the St. Louis County
Municipal League. He later served as Executive Director of the Missouri
Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors.
Mr.
Hennessey earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration and
economics from Drake University in 1974, and an MBA from Southern
Illinois University in 1978.
